I thought we would begin with some good news. In the US, there were developments on the inflation front, which some consider as positive, with a July inflation expectation report — it looks at where people see prices rising in the future — falling to 2.8% over a five-year horizon, down from 3.1% in June and a one-year low.
With the cost of living in Australia going up, we can all use a helping hand to stay ahead with our finances.
On July 5, 2022, The RBA raised the Australian cash rate by 0.50 percent for the second month running, taking the cash rate to 1.35 percent. For the first time since 2010, the RBA went back-to-back-to-back, raising the cash rate three times in just over two months between May and July 2022 from its record low level of 0.10 percent.
