Additional explanation of fees and costs
Administration fees and costs
The Administration fees and costs are calculated on the daily average account balance on the last day of the month, or when you close your account, and are deducted from your investments in arrears.
For information about the amount of Administration fees and costs payable (and an explanation of these fees and costs), please refer to the Member Guide here.
Investment fees and costs
Investments options are subject to investment fees and costs. Investment fees and costs are based on a number of factors and will vary from time to time. They also include indirect investment costs (where applicable).
Indirect investment costs are those costs which are not incurred and/or paid directly by the Trustee. These indirect costs are incurred in or by an investment which qualifies as an ‘interposed vehicle’ (such as the Scheme in which Raiz Invest Super invests).
Indirect investment costs differ between investment options. These costs are based on numerous factors including the complexity of the investment options that are involved, the different asset classes and investment managers that make up the investment option(s).
The table below shows the estimated investment fees and costs (including indirect investment costs where applicable) of each investment option based on the fees and costs of the underlying investments for the financial year ending 30 June 2024:
| Investment Option | Investment fees and costs (p.a.)1 |
|---|---|
| Conservative Portfolio | 0.275% + 0.182% (0.457%) |
| Moderately Conservative Portfolio | 0.275% + 0.167% (0.442%) |
| Moderate Portfolio | 0.275% + 0.184% (0.459%) |
| Moderately Aggressive Portfolio | 0.275% + 0.209% (0.484%) |
| Aggressive Portfolio | 0.275% + 0.219% (0.494%) |
| Emerald Portfolio | 0.275% + 0.444% (0.719%) |
| Property 10 Portfolio | 0.275% + 0.324% (0.599%) |
| Property 30 Portfolio | 0.275% + 0.587% (0.862%) |
| Plus Portfolio | 0.275%2 |
- The percentage-based investment fee of 0.275% p.a. is not charged when a member’s daily average account balance is lower than $6,000. This is checked monthly.
- The investment fees and costs in respect of the Plus Portfolio relate to the Raiz Invest Super product and access to the financial products available via the Plus Portfolio only, and do not include the investment fees and costs that relate to investing in the accessible financial products. Additional investment fees and costs may be charged by the issuers of the financial products that you decide to invest in via the Plus Portfolio. Estimated investment fees and costs may vary from year to year.
Transaction costs
Transaction costs are costs associated with the sale and purchase of assets of the superannuation entity, other than costs that are recovered by a superannuation entity charging a buy-sell spread. The Trustee does not charge a buy-sell spread, however buy-sell spread costs associated with the sale and purchase of assets, which are incurred by the Scheme in which the Raiz Invest Super product invests, apply.
These buy-sell spread costs include costs relating to the investment managers’ buying and selling of investments and include costs such as buy-sell spreads of underlying investments. These fees and costs are deducted in or through the Scheme in which Raiz Invest Super invests when they are incurred, and are generally reflected in the daily value of your Raiz Invest Super account.
The table below shows the estimated transaction costs (including indirect transaction costs where applicable) of each investment option based on the costs for the underlying investments for the financial year ending 30 June 2024 (these are gross annual transaction costs, as the Trustee does not apply buy/sell spreads to the Raiz Invest Super product). The transaction costs (other than the amounts paid by the Promoter) are an additional cost to members and apply to your Raiz Super account, regardless of the investment option(s) you select, as set out below.
| Investment Option | Gross Transaction costs (p.a.) | Costs charged to you (p.a.) | Costs paid by Promoter (p.a.)1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| All Portfolios | 0.06% | 0.039% | 0.021% |
- Costs paid by Promoter are not deducted from your account and have no impact on your investment return. These costs include brokerage, settlement costs and clearing costs. Estimated transaction costs may vary from year to year.
