Utilities, technology, energy and banking shares were among the areas under pressure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>In the United States, activity in equity markets remained healthy, with around US$2.8 billion raised across nine equity and equity-linked deals during the week. Technology also remained a key area of strength, with continued demand for artificial intelligence helping support information technology and communication services companies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bond markets experienced a more challenging week as investors responded to concerns around inflation and the possibility of interest rates remaining higher for longer. Longer-term government bond yields rose in both the US and Japan, reflecting changing expectations for the path of monetary policy. These movements are being closely watched as investors assess what higher borrowing costs could mean for economies and markets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Across Asia, technology remained a bright spot, particularly in Japan and South Korea, where semiconductor and chip-related companies benefited from continued global demand for AI.
